Market Targeting

Market Targeting is the process of analyzing each market segment's attractiveness and selecting one or more segment to enter. The idea is to target segments that will be able to generate the greatest customer value and sustain it over time while being profitable. In other words, the goal is to build the right relationships with the right customers.

How many times how I seen this advertisement while driving around town. Every time I see this ad it makes me laugh. Why? Stella Artois is telling you straight up that this an expensive beer. The ad is telling the public that this beer isn't for everyone (the masses), but for the those who are willing to pay this product. Stella Artois is targeting the "higher class" individual who wants the best and has the means to attain it . Stella Artois doesn't want to cater to your "Old Joe" that's is fine downing PBR cans at $.50 cents a pop.
